Rectangle granny crochet pattern free. I found this graphic and think that it will be great for crocheting a rug or blanket with.

I am not a professional pattern writer, so my terminology is not perfect. But I hope you understand, if you have any questions simply ask and I will try to help.
Instructions:
Chain 40
Round 1: Dc 2 times into the 4th chain, dc into every chain until the last chain, then dc3, ch3, dc3 into the final chain, then dc into every chain on the opposite side, at the last chain, dc3, chain 3, dc3 and chain 3, then slip stitch round closed.
Round 2: chain 3 (counts as first dc), (chain 1 and dc, skipping a dc from the row below) all the way to the end of the row, once you hit the corner you will chain 1, dc, chain 3, dc. Continue the round in this way.
Rounds 3 and 4: as round 2
Round 5: dc into every stitch, adding a chain 3 in the corners.
